Ducati Single Cylinder Concept
Ducati created one of the neatest racing machines of all time in the form of their iconic Supermono. A street legal version was promised, but never delivered. The Diablo 666 design by TCD was based on this unfulfilled promise. It features a single cylinder powerplant similar to the original Supermono, with the addition of a small supercharger mounted in the space above the front cylinder. The engine capacity is 666cc for devilish pick up!
A lot of work went into the headlight and face . I wanted to link the visuals of a racing motorcycle with a street legal machine.
The largest difference between the two types of machine was the smooth, headlight-free nose of the racing machine.
Was there a way to hide the mandatory headlight- in fact make it disappear completely?
The answer finally came in a design incorporating the first motorcycle-specific application of 'smart glass' -a glazing product which becomes clear or opaque depending on applied voltage.
